as our contemporary society develops dramatically， a worrying problem has sprung up that the degree of trust among individuals has decreased。 for example， when we meet a man begging for money due to his handicapped leg in the street， we are considering whether he is cheating us。 plus， in the business circle， we consumers couldn’t easily believe what the merchant has guaranteed。
all these problems mentioned above are reduced to adverse consequences。 especially， in the corporate world exists the prevalence of dishonesty。 influenced by these phenomena， we， invariably， become increasing cautious about other’s guarantee， even a piece of word。 thus， this trend does much harm to the commodity economy。
the underlying reason for these phenomena is the distorted mentality of money worship。 there are an army of figures expect getting by with cheating customers by selling fake products。 but， they would inevitably suffer penalty。 so， honesty counts most。 to sum up， we， average citizens， can eliminate the feeling of distrust via treating others honestly and paying confidence to others。
today more and more people keep animals for pets, like dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, fish, and so on. some people think that animals often make rooms dirty and smelly. even though keeping a pet takes time and costs money. i think pets will bring us a lot of fun.
three years ago my uncle gave me a dog, a naughty dog. i liked it very much. the dog was about one year old. i called him taotao. his two eyes are just like big lamps, both big and bright. he has long and white hair which makes him look like a white ball. his nose is like a button net to the eyes. he has a cute look. when we have meal he looks at us and barks at us. he seems to say:” why don’t you give me something to eat?”
what a lovely dog! i like it very much!
Nowadays, college teachers have faced the new challenge, they need to accept the students’ rating of them. The teachers are in great pressure, because if they get the low mark, they will be embarrassed and question about themselves. In my opinion, the rating is good for both students and teachers.
On the one hand, the students can give their reaction to the teachers. In traditional class, teacher is in the leading position, all the students go with them. When the students have the questions, they don’t have the time to ask. But rating system makes the class no longer the one-sided activity, the students are the important part. They can let the teachers know how the teaching method is working.
On the other hand, the teacher can adjust their teaching method. The new system pays attention to the students’ reaction, so the teachers can better understand how the students feel about their lessons. They can make some changes, so the students learn better.
The rating system is necessary, it makes both the teacher and students become the important parts of the class.
Earlier chapters have placed heavy emhasis on the importance of taking control of your mind. This control is pivotal to your personal initiative, positive mental attituded, and controlled enthusiasm. Self-discipline is the process that ties all these efforts together for you. It isn't possible to achieve self-discipline without making some progress on theose other principles; self discipline requries self-knowledge and an accurate assesssment of your current abilities. Likewise, the other principles can't really be put into action without self-disciples can't really be put into action without self-discipline. It is the channel through which all your personal power for success must flow.
Think of your mind as a reserveoir in which you have been storing up potential power. You will now learn to release that power in precise quantities and specific directions. This is the essence of self-discipline.
showing respect to parents is one of the chinese traditional moral values.as most of the students today are “the only child” in their family, they often regard themselves as the“centre”of the family, without caring much about their parents. our school started a programme when the new year came.it is “respecting parents programme”. ten“dos”have been worked out for the students to follow clearly and easily, including:
“remember your parents birthdays and epress your best wishes to them; say”hello“to your parents when you see them returning home; and tell your parents where you go when you leave home.” the programme has been successful, and has won praises from parents and other sides of the society. people say this is what we should have done earlier!
Cooperation is the most important two words in our life. "Cooperation" is composed of 400 words. Many people have gained happiness in two words. Why do I say so, because I have heard the following story.
Once upon a time, there was a lucky man who was taken to heaven and hell by god. They first came to hell and saw a crowd of people surrounded by a large pot of broth, but these people looked malnourished, desperate and hungry. Look carefully, each holding a pot can reach the spoon, the spoon handle but longer than their arm, so don't put things in your mouth. They seem to be very sad.
Then God took him into another place. This place is exactly the same as the previous one: a pot of soup, a bunch of people, the same long spoon. But everyone was happy and had a good time. God told him that this was heaven.
The visitor was puzzled: "Why are the two places the same situation, but the result is quite different?" Finally, after careful observation, he finally saw the answer: everyone in hell wanted to scoop up his own broth; and everyone in heaven was feeding another man with a spoon. As a result, the people in hell are hungry and miserable, while the people in paradise eat very well
In heaven, it is the understanding of cooperation that gains happiness and fills the belly. I think that's why people say "heaven is beautiful".
The week long National Day holiday which started from Oct. I has become not only an occasion for celebrating the birth of the nation but also a time for people to relax. After all, under great pressure every day, everyone longs to slow down and rediscover the real fun of life.
My only hope for the week long holiday was also to relax myself well, instead of playing well. I slept until the sun was shinning above, ate my favorite food which I scarcely have because of their high calorie, and enjoyed different kinds of films from day to night.
Usually, I seldom went out during the holidays, as it was too terrible to battle the National Day holiday crowds. But this time, I couldn＇t resist myself against the performance of music fireworks whose theme was "All Colors of Music".
As a part of the International Music Fireworks Festival, the performance of music fireworks, designed by the Swedish artists, was staged at Century Park in Pudong on the night of October 3.
The scene, a spectacular combination of fireworks exploding in harmony with the music, made powerful visual and audio impact on me. The artists selected for the performance various pieces of music, including classical music by Beethoven and Strauss, some representative popular compositions such as "My Heart Will Go on". With the music, the fireworks were set off in different formations. I could admire the fireworks in the sky as well as their reflections in the water.
Arising from the River surface to the height of 300 meters in the sky, multi-layered and rich colored fireworks formulated an extremely spectacular picture. One of the most eye catchers was that nearly 1000 sparkling pieces of fireworks along the surface of the water formed a red carpet with 80 meters long and 250 meters wide. At the same time, a 10 meter-high waterfall firework rushed downwards the bridge across Jingtian Lake and simultaneously the red lantern shaped fireworks filled the sky. It really took me on a romantic tour as the fireworks explode.
Wish for next chance to see such kind of music fireworks again!
