　　当汤姆在回家的路上时，天下起了大雨。他打开伞走得更快了。突然他看见一个老奶奶手里拿着拐杖蹒跚地往前走。她手里没有伞，全身都湿透了。汤姆走上前去试图和她共用一把伞。但老奶奶太高了，而他太矮，伞举得不够高。这时他看见老奶奶的拐杖，有了一个主意。他使劲地把拐杖系在了伞把上。伞够高了，老奶奶反复地感谢他。然后他们继续往家走了。
